Carnitas

All the carnitas flavor without the excess fat from the fryer!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup S&L's Sweet and Spicy Rub
  • 1 Onion cut into large pieces
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 7-8 lbs Pork Shoulder or Pork Butt
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Trim access fat from Pork

  2. Score the top of the pork with a knife

  3. Add S&L's Sweet and Spicy Rub

  4. Sear pork on all sides (Optional, but adds so much flavor!)

  5. Cover and cook 8-10 hours on low or 6 hours on high until meat falls apart with a fork

Recipe Notes

For a variation you can add BBQ sauce and make amazing pulled pork sandwiches.
