Busy Mami Style - Restaurant Salsa

Ingredients

  • 1 can whole tomatoes must be canned, with no seasonings
  • 2-4 jalapeños adjust to your spice preference
  • 1/2 bunch of cilantro adjust to taste
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 1 whole lime add more if desired
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1-2 tsp salt start small, taste, and adjust
  • 1 tsp adobo optional
  • 1 tsp sugar optional

Instructions

  1. Add the canned tomatoes to a blender or food processor, including the juices.
  2. Roughly chop the jalapeños (remove membrane and seeds if you want less heat) and add them in.
  3. Add the onion, cilantro, and lime juice to the blender.
  4. Sprinkle in the oregano, cumin, salt, and any optional ingredients like adobo or sugar.
  5. Blend until smooth or pulse for a chunkier texture.
  6. Taste and adjust—add more salt, lime, or spice based on your preference.
  7. Serve immediately or let it sit for 10-15 minutes for the flavors to meld. Will store in the fridge for a week or two depending on the lemon content! But it won’t last that long I promise - you will eat it all so quick!
