Ingredients

  • 3 cups Flour all purpose
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/3 cup Oil Corn, Vegetable, lard, or Olive Oil
  • 3/4 - 1 cup Warm Water
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

Instructions

  1. Combine your 3 cups of flour, 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tbs of salt

  2. Then add in your 1/3 cup oil/fat and mix

  3. Slowly add in the hot water and keep mixing with your fork, until you have a ball and then use your hand and kneed the dough in your bowl for about 5 mins. Cover with a towel and let it rest for 20 mins.

  4. Split your dough into little balls, should make about 13

  5. One at a time you will dip in some flour and then roll out your dough into a disk tortilla like shape (don't worry about perfection they taste yummy either way!)

  6. Add to a med/hot pan ( you can use a pancake pan if you don't have a Comal) and cook on one side for about 2 mins until you see bubbles come up consistently around and then flip and cook the other side.

  7. That's it! You've MADE TORTILLAS! Yum! now go make some yummy fillings!

  8. These can store in the fridge in a ziptop bag for a week (but they wont last that long ha ha) you can just reheat on the fire in a pan or directly on the fire to warm up.
